Projects
VIS'08 Advanced Classification and Transfer Function Design
This project aims at developing new techniques for classifying and exploring complex data sets. Examples of these include size-based, visibility-driven and occlusion-based transfer functions.
Visual Analytics Uncertainty-aware Visual Analytics
We study the foundations of data transformations that enables us to measure, propagate and represent uncertainty in the visual analytics process.
An important branch of this study is the sensitivity analysis of network metrics. Click here to learn more.
VIS'08 GPU-based computing and visualization
We aim at producing high-quality visualizations of large and complex data sets, harnessing the computing power of graphic processing units.
About me!

Carlos D. Correa is a postdoctoral scholar in Computer Science at the University of California, Davis. He works with Professor Kwan-Liu Ma in the Visualization and Interface Design Innovation research group. He received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University in 2007, under the direction of Professor Deborah Silver. His old Web site can be visited here.

Among his research interests are Transfer Function Design, Expressive and Illustrative Visualization, GPU Computing and Graphics, and Foundations of Visual Analytics.
